According to wedding experts, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are amongst the most popular days of the year to pop the question, along with New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day and of course, Valentine’s Day.
And who can blame them? Christmas and New Year are romantic times. Twinkly lights, mistletoe and a heart-warming movie (dare I suggest my favourite; The Holiday!).
And if you did get engaged, were you given a ring or will you choose one together? Did you know that the tradition of the engagement ring dates right back to the ancient Egyptians? They also started the tradition to wear the ring on the left hand as they believed it linked to a vein straight to the heart.

It’s so good to have the club recognised for the work our teams put into each and every wedding. From the hours of meetings and communication with the wedding couple, to the big day itself. I’ve no doubt we’re going to have another successful year of weddings in 2022. How lucky am I to work in a place where I get to see lots of weddings and wedding receptions. It’s always great to hear from the happy couples afterwards too and how much they enjoyed their day. Some couples come back in to show us their wedding photos, it’s lovely to see them so happy after their big day and we feel blessed to have been part of it.
Oh dear, it seems the season is bringing out the romantic in me too!
