Happy World Book Day 2022!
World Book Day was created by UNESCO on 23rd April 1995, as a worldwide celebration of books and authors and to encourage young people to discover the pleasure of reading. It is celebrated in over 100 countries around the globe.
The first World Book Day in the UK and Ireland took place on 3rd March 1997 and today marks the 25th Anniversary.
World Book Day founder, Baroness Gail Rebuck says “our message is the same today as it was then – that reading is fun, relevant, accessible, exciting, and has the power to transform lives.”
To mark this very special year, we are delighted to give you a chance to win one of two beautiful children’s books, by author Ben Lerwill and illustrator Marina Ruiz called ‘Let’s Go Outside!’.
Not only does this book encourage time outside, it also introduces children to the wonders and excitement of reading. Take time to be a nature detective, hunt for minibeasts, or run through the forest on an adventure, let your imagination run wild.
‘Let’s go outside!’ is available from all the usual bookstores and our prizes were kindly donated by Welbeck Publishing.
See you next week and enjoy World book Day, happy reading!
