We are pleased to announce the launch of Project 32 – a significant investment of up to £500,000 into the ongoing enhancement of our golf course, running through to 2032. This long-term commitment reflects our continued focus on improving playing conditions, course presentation, and the overall experience for our members and guests
Introducing Next-Generation Robotic Technology
The first phase of Project 32 sees the introduction of three state-of-the-art robotic mowers from Echo Robotics. These advanced machines represent a major step forward in modern course management and will bring a number of key benefits:
- Consistent, high-quality cutting using floating cutting heads and multi-blade systems, delivering an even finish across all terrains
- Precision GPS technology allowing highly accurate mowing patterns and flexibility across different areas of the course
- Ability to operate day and night, in all weathers, ensuring consistent presentation throughout the season
- Reduced ground compaction due to their lightweight design, helping to protect turf health and improve drainage
- Environmental benefits, including lower energy consumption, reduced fuel use, and a smaller carbon footprint
Significant efficiency gains, with minimal manual input required, allowing our team to focus on higher-impact course improvements
Reinvesting Time Where It Matters Most
One of the key advantages of introducing robotic technology is the ability to free up our expert Greenkeeping team from routine mowing tasks. This creates the capacity to accelerate important improvement works across the course.
A major focus of Project 32 is our comprehensive bunker refurbishment programme, delivered in partnership with DuraBunker. This is a significant investment in both time and resources, with a commitment to refurbish all 63 bunkers across the course as part of the programme.
The benefits of the DuraBunker system include:
- Improved drainage and resistance to washouts, reducing disruption following poor weather
- Greater structural stability and consistency, enhancing playability
- Reduced long-term maintenance requirements and operational costs
- A more professional and visually consistent finish across the entire course
In addition, we are committing to continued improvement of course accessibility, with the installation of a new buggy path network to the back 9.
2026 Works Programme
As part of this year’s delivery, we will be completing 10 bunkers and introducing buggy paths to this enhanced specification, including:
- 3 greenside bunkers on the 9th hole
- 3 greenside bunkers on the 10th hole
- 2 bunkers on the 11th hole
- 2 bunkers on the 18th hole
- approximately 894sqm of new pathing on the 10th and 11th holes later this year.
Building on Recent Investment
Project 32 builds on the significant improvements delivered in recent years, including investment in:
- Practice areas
- Course signage
- Irrigation systems
- Modern golf course machinery
- New tee box on the 15th
We hope you agree that these continued enhancements will further elevate the standard of our golf course and ensure it remains one of the region’s leading golfing destinations.
We look forward to sharing further updates as Project 32 progresses.
