Golf – Top tips for staying cool this summer
Summer is finally here and we’ve already experienced some of the hottest days on record so far this year. Summer golf brings the best out of our course but so does the heat and sunshine. Golfers spend around 6 hours during the day in the sunshine and rarely wear sun cream or cover up to protect their skin.
So how can you ensure you stay as cool as possible on the golf course this summer?
We’ve asked our team of golf experts here at China Fleet who’ve shared their tips on staying safe and enjoying your game this summer.
1. Beat the Heat & Tee Off Early
Playing earlier or even later in the day to avoid the midday heat.
2. Stay Hydrated
Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. This will improve mental focus and energy levels throughout your round.
3. Cooling Towels
Bring a spare towel to wipe sweat off your hands to ensure you can grip the club throughout your round.
4. Travel Light
There’s no need to take your full set of clubs in the summer. The ball naturally travels further in the heat so think about club selection.
5. Take to 4 Wheels
Make the most of the buggies we have to hire and feel the cool breeze whilst riding around the course.
6. Keep A Cool Head
Cover your head….wear a hat! Such a simple thing can save you from a sore, sunburnt head and is vital for protecting you from the sun’s rays.
7. Not just for Rain
It may be worth packing an umbrella to escape the rays from the sun (or even a typical rain shower too!)
Follow our top tips and stay safe on the course this summer. Of course if it gets too hot or rain stops play, cool off in our air conditioned Lounge Bar! You can always enjoy The Open on Sky Sports which will be available live in the lounge bar throughout the competition.
