Sibton Park

Kent

Sibton Park is tucked into the North Downs in the heart of ‘the Garden of England’ - near to the coast, in the county of Kent, setting for H E Bates’ popular story ‘The Darling Buds of May’. Sibton Park at Lyminge near Folkestone is a superb Grade II listed country house dating from 1602 (though records on the ownership of Sibton date back to the 12th century). The Bond’s first property in the southeast of England, it could hardly be better situated: though it is set in 43 acres, in the heart of the sleepy and serene North Downs, it is nonetheless just four miles from the M20, and five miles from the Channel Tunnel.

A separate leisure centre has been built to house the heated swimming pool, sauna and mini-gym, as well as a clubroom with table tennis, pool and bar billiards. There are three hard-surface tennis courts, an all-weather bowling green, a nine-hole pitch and putt course, and a young children’s play area. A free DVD library is situated in the snooker room. During the summer months, the adjoining cricket ground resonates with the quintessentially English sound of leather against willow. The adjacent clubhouse has a bar where Bondholders are made welcome during home matches.

The historic cities of Canterbury and Rochester - and the majestic castles of Leeds and Dover - are but a few of the sights that await you. Landscapes range from the Romney Marsh to the High Weald; from the North Downs to the Thames estuary; from the White Cliffs, to the oast houses around Tonbridge

Etchinghill’s New Inn offers lunch and evening meals. At Elham, the Blue Vinney is recommended for lunch and evening meals, as are the nearby Rose and Crown and King’s Arms pubs. A 24-hour Tesco is a short drive away. And the village store in Lyminge offers a range of local produce, including milk.
